Fox News vs. Greenpeace on Recycled Toilet Paper

Fox News made light of a recent story on recycled toilet paper, which is easy to do because it’s natural to get goofy when talking about poo-related issues. However, Rolfe Skar Senior Forest Campaigner from Greenpeace took the matter a little more seriously, considering the millions of trees destroyed in the making of soft tissue.

“We know that if we put a man on the moon, we can certainly make a soft, comfortable toilet paper out of recycled fiber,” Skar said.

Reusable Cloth Wipes a Green Alternative to Toilet Paper?

Okay, so we don’t know what to think about this one. We here at EcoTechNinja really, really want to promote environmentally-friendly products, but asking us to recycle our toilet paper might be pushing it. The jury’s still out.

So Wallypop Toilet Wipes are supposedly stench free - though they don’t mention whether their lack of stinky is before or after they’re covered with human feces. Wait! Okay, okay - we apologize to Wallypop. We just read, “Using cloth wipes for urine-only visits to the bathroom is so simple it’s hardly worth mentioning. Go, wipe, and then toss the wipe into whatever container you prefer.”

So, it might make sense after all. Use paper for your “longer” bathroom visits and reusable cloth wipes for your occasional quick wizz.

Wallypop says, “Using cloth toilet wipes actually has many advantages. For one, it’s a lot more comfortable and soft on your most delicate body parts. It’s also more economical, uses less paper, and saves you those late-night trips to the store. And cloth wipes can be used wet without any of the sopping disintegration that regular toilet paper is prone to.”

So, what do you think? Will you consider making the switch to reusable cloth wipes? Or is it just too much for you to handle right now? We’re still on the fence.

Eco-Friendly Underwear Better Than Going Commando

How often do you think about your underwear? Not often? Well, a U.K. group who call themselves More Than Pretty Knickers, hopes to change that by producing a new video that draws attention to pollution and other hazards involved in producing and transporting underwear.

Many people are unaware of the amounts of toxic chemicals that are used in the production of certain textiles.

A spokesperson for the company told the UK Sun, “We’re NOT expecting folk to go commando. On the contrary we’re hoping the fashion business will become a leading example of an industry that can pull people out of poverty and protect our environment. More Than Pretty Knickers has one aim: to change the textiles industry for the better! We want to see standards raised at every level of production from growing to sewing, from cotton to bottom! We want to see fashion become a sustainable business driven by the demands of well informed shoppers who give a damn about where there stuff comes from.”
